I prefer non-saturated images, and mainly use S mode on my Fuji cameras. Most my pictures are ordinary snapshots, pictures taken for plant identification or something like that, nothing artistic.
Recently I came across pictures taken by David Taylor-Hughes, presumably in Velvia mode (on Fuji X-M1). He is very gifted photographer / artist, and high saturation in these images creates a very interesting effect. Very emotional pictures.
